Clean-Up at the Canvas

Happy belated 2016 everyone! I’ve had a very busy post-holiday season volunteering and creating more art!

Starting the week after New Year’s, my husband and I helped out at The Warrior’s Canvas and Veterans Art Center. It was a lot of work but we had a great time. We managed to scrape paint off the floor and then give it a good cleaning; we also painted the walls and ceiling along with re-organizing the space. The whole process took about two weeks overall; our goal was to make the studio space more efficient for the vets as well as the public and to make it more inviting for the many classes, meetings and therapy sessions held there. As you can see, we’ve made a lot of progress:

We’re just about ready for the first Friday demonstrations. I started teaching classes February 20th and would love to have as much public participation in these classes as I can get. You can see all the classes I’m teaching on my Facebook page; while you’re there, be sure to sign up for classes and like my page!
Lastly, if you’re in Johnson City or even if you’re not and you’d like to see where my more recent pieces are, you can find them at the Rugged Lab, the Nelson Fine Art Center, and Art in the Heart Gallery. Make sure to like their page as well and keep checking back here for more updates and new additions to my website!
